But what about Easter? Sure there are the occasional songs, "Peter Cottontail" and "Easter Parade" come to mind, plus the soundtracks to "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "Godspell", but there really is a lack of popular Easter LPs.

I would like to suggest a couple. First is Tom Waits "Blood Money". The music from this album was actually written for an adaptation of the play Woyzek, but I'm appropriating it the same way songs like "Linus and Lucy" and "My Favorite Things" were appropriated by Christmas. Can't you see everyone gathering around the empty tomb singing, "All the World is Green" or "Everything Goes to Hell"?

Second, "Easter" by the Patti Smith Group. Filled with religious (especially Catholic) imagery this is a perfect choice.
